Lego Ninjago Magazine September 2016 Limited Edition Zane Minifigure Review

Here we have another limited edition minifigure review from the cover of the official Lego Ninjago Magazine from September 2016. I quite like the idea of Ninjago and I really like some of the recent themes they've had. However I tend tend to buy much of the sets due to me usually prioritizing some other themes/sets over them. I do like to get my hands on the different minifigures though where I can so this magazine is ideal for adding to my minifig collection.

This issue of the Ninjago magazine comes with two free gifts. You get a limited edition Zane minifigure and a pack of the recently released Ninjago trading cards. The magazine contains comics, activities, competitions and posters. I wont go into too much detail about the magazine here but I'm sure the content is quite enjoyable for those interested.

I have a few of the packs of Ninjago trading cards now from various magazines. They seem fairly interesting but I don't really want to get drawn into another collection. You get five cards in a pack with the guarantee of a special card. Ironically the special card I received in this pack was Zane, although wearing a different costume to the minifigure. You can play some sort of game with the cards, I have no idea what the rules are but you do get a small leaflet in every pack explaining the game.

I have a few minifigures of the Zane character but none of him as the titanium ninja so I was pretty excited to get this figure. The limited editioness of this figure comes from the fact that he looks almost exactly the same as the Zane 2.0 figure in Lego 70748 the Titanium Dragon, however he does not have the shoulder guards and is missing the printed symbol from his head piece. I think the figure looks great and shiny titanium coloured plastic used for the arms and head pieces. He has two face prints, one with a scary looking smile and the other with some kind of electronic visor. He also has a back piece to hold his swords.

I quite like the creativity of the weapons that come with these figures as they seem to try quite hard to make some interesting combinations. He comes with both a katana and a cutlass which I think fits nicely with the ninjas vs pirates theme they have going on at the moment. You also get some other weapon pieces which can be combined to make some custom golden maces. The maces are a really clever design and I think they look great.

The next issue will contain figure of Ronin which again I think I do not currently own so I will be definitely trying to get a copy of that. Ronin comes with "2 cool Aeroblades" and the issue is on sale 26th of October.

So to sum up, getting the magazine for this figure is definitely worth it for Ninjago fans and minifig collectors. If you are interested in the magazine or the cards also then it is definitely worth the price and I would recommend getting down to you local news agents to grab a copy.
