Lego set 76000: Arctic Batman vs. Mr Freeze Review

Ice to see you. I built this one a while ago but decided to review it on here anyway.
Let's start with the minifigures.

Here we have the Arctic Batman which as you can see is practically the same as the standard Batman except with a white cowl and and cape. The only difference with the printing on the  torso is the utility belt and the bat symbol which has been changed to grey instead of yellow. The head piece is also standard batman with the scowly and smirky faces. However despite all of the similarities, I really like this figure. I like that they've tried to give us a different costume for Batman rather than the standard black. Maybe they could have changed the printing a little but I for one am happy enough with Arctic Batman as he is.

Now onto the villain of the set, Mr. Freeze. I was really pleased to get this figure as I didn't have a Mr. Freeze. Looking at the pictures of the old version released with the old bat cave set, I prefer the design of this figure. The Mr. Freeze figure looks great. It has front and back torso printing and a nice helmet piece which looks quite similar to the pieces found in the Atlantis sets (it could be the same piece, I'm not sure). The head printing is very nicely designed and his freeze ray is pretty cool.

Here is the reason that I'm guessing most people will want this set, Aquaman. I'm not a huge fan of Aquaman but I thought this figure looked great and I can't say it wasn't one of the reasons I bought this set. I think this is a great little figure, I'm not sure the hair suits Aquaman all that well but I'm not too bothered about that. The legs have no printing but are a nice shade of green. I love the orange torso piece and it also has front and back printing. His head piece also has double sided printing, one side is a super serious face and the other side a super angry face. He also has a gold trident which we have seen before in the Atlantis sets and Collectable minifigure series.

The main buildable component of this set is the Bat Boat. This is a fun little build and the end result looks great. It also has a pair of disc launchers for the obligatory action oriented part of the vehicle. I love how all of the vehicles in the recent Batman sets definitely look like they belong to the same universe (with the exception of the The Bat from the tumble chase set). I like the size of the boat and that it kind of looks like a converted Bat-mobile. I mean look at it, it just looks really cool, how could you not want that.

Finally the extra little buildable part of the set, The Minifig sized ice prison. The ice prison isn't a very difficult build at all but it is quite nice looking. It almost looks like an ice themed minifigure display case. It also has a kind of "super hero explodes out of the ice prison" action. I think though it isn't a difficult build it is a nice addition to the set. I'm kind of glad they went with that rather than giving Mr. Freeze a random vehicle to drive around in.

In conclusion, this is a nice little set with some nice pieces. The Bat-boat looks great and the ice prison is a nice little addition. The minifigures make this set worth getting alone, all of which look fantastic.
