Character Building Doctor Who Micro-Figures Dalek Review

I finally found some series 3 of  the Character Building Doctor Who Micro-Figures in my local Tesco. The set seems alright for huge Doctor Who/Character Building fans but to be honest with you I am neither. However I do think the Daleks look pretty cool and I like the idea of having a Lego compatible Dalek (I might try and get an Ood too). I already had a few Dalek's from the other series of Micro-Figures but I knew series 3 had a gold Dalek so I decided to try and feel it out. It was really easy to find it just by feeling the packets as the shape is is really bulky compared to the other figures in the series. Here is a picture of the little check list you get inside the packet. I believe there are a few ultra rares in these sets that don't appear on the check list but I don't really like them enough to bother trying to hunt those out. So I opened the bag and as I suspected, I got me a Golden Dalek, exactly what I was after.

Here is a picture of the pre-assemebled Dalek. I immediately noticed that there was differences between this Dalek and the Dalek's from previous series. Firstly the amount of parts were fewer with the series 3 figure. There is a total of 7 pieces whereas the previous series Dalek's had 9 pieces, not a huge difference but noticeable. Obviously with less pieces you expect the figure to look slightly different.

Here are a few pictures of the assembled Dalek. The detail on this figure seemed to be a big improvement on the previous series.

I have take a few comparison pictures here for you to see the differences for yourself. As you can see the new Dalek is slightly smaller that the previous ones and has more detail in the parts.

When you see the view of the Dalek from the back you can see that the old ones had a printed segment but the new one has no printing on it at all.

When comparing the two I prefer the look and detail of the series 3 figure. So if you think you already have enough Character Building Dalek's and that this one wouldn't be worth your time then think again. Overall I really like the figure and would definitely recommend to anybody interested in the Character Building Doctor Who line.
